Peter C. Georgiopoulos is Chairman of our Board of Directors. Since 1997, Mr. Georgiopoulos has served as Chairman, President, Chief Executive Officer of General Maritime, a publicly traded tanker company with shares listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Georgiopoulos is also Chairman of the Board of Genco Shipping & Trading Limited, a public drybulk shipping company whose shares trade on the NYSE. From 1991 to 1997, Mr. Georgiopoulos was the principal of Maritime Equity Management, a vessel-owning and investment company which he founded in 1991. From 1990 to 1991, he was affiliated with Mallory Jones Lynch & Associates, an oil tanker brokerage firm and has extensive experience in the sale, purchase and chartering of vessels while working for shipowners in New York and Piraeus, Greece. Mr. Georgiopoulos is a member of the American Bureau of Shipping.
E. Nikolas Tavlarios President
E. Nikolas Tavlarios is President of Aegean Marine Petroleum Network Inc.
Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Tavlarios served as Vice President of
General Maritime Management LLC, a tanker operating subsidiary of General
Maritime, where he oversaw business development and was responsible for
maintaining commercial relationships with the major oil companies. Prior to
General Maritime, Mr. Tavlarios acted as the Executive Director for Tishman
Speyer's Rockefeller Center property. Mr. Tavlarios is a member of the
American Bureau of Shipping and of the Det Norske Veritas (DNV) North
American Committee.
Dimitris Melisanidis Head of Corporate
Development & Founder
Dimitris Melisanidis is our Founder and Head of Corporate Development. Mr. Melisanidis is a member of the Greek Committee of the classification society Bureau Veritas, the Committee on Petroleum Policy of the Hellenic Petroleum Marketing Companies Association and is involved in a number of other institutions, including the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce, the Propeller Club of The United States, the Union of European Shipowners with Cyprus Flag and the Yacht Club of Greece. Mr. Melisanidis is a founding member and President of the Athens Club of Black Sea and a Vice President of the World Fraternity for Hellenism and Orthodoxy as well as the Association for Greek-American Friendship.
Spyros Fokas General Counsel & Corporate Secretary
Spyros Fokas is our General Counsel and Corporate Secretary since June 2005. Mr. Fokas is an attorney and he has been practicing maritime law since 1980. He has represented our Company since 1998. Mr. Fokas is a member of the Greek Maritime Law Association and the Hellenic Society of Maritime Lawyers.
Spyros Gianniotis Chief Financial Officer
Spyros Gianniotis is our Chief Financial Officer. He has over 21 years of experience in shipping finance with major banks in both Greece and the USA. Prior to joining Aegean, Mr. Gianniotis served as the Head of Shipping at Piraeus Bank SA, holding the title Assistant General Manager. Between 1989 and 2001, Mr. Gianniotis was at Citigroup, both in New York and Athens, holding a number of positions within the corporate and shipping finance. He holds a BA, MSc and an MBA.
Gregory Robolakis General Manager Aegean Marine Petroleum S.A.
Gregory Robolakis is the General Manager of Aegean Marine Petroleum S.A., responsible for Sales and marketing. He holds a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering. Prior to joining us in 1998, Mr Robolakis worked at Agip Petroli Spa as Director of Marine Sales in Greece. He begun his career at Shell company (Hellas) Ltd. where he was employed in the sales and marketing department from 1988 to 1994.
Nick Hondos General Manager Aegean Bunkering Services Inc.
Nick Hondos is General Manager of Aegean Bunkering Services Inc. and is responsible for the operations of our Service Centers and the bunkering fleet. Prior to joining our company, Mr. Hondos served as Chief Executive Officer of tanker operators Athenian Sea Carriers Ltd, a position he held since 1999. From 1994 to 1999 Mr. Hondos was Director of Business Development at American Bureau of Shipping Marine Services, in charge of Europe, Middle East area. Prior to this, Mr. Hondos was a Production Manager at NEORION Shipyards (Syros Island) in Greece.
